More about BG Pastures

Honeycomb

All-Natural Honey

The honey bees at BGP play a vital role on the farm’s property.  They pollinate all the fruits and vegetables on the farm, along side the adjacent farms, where they also aid in the sustainability of the ecosystem.  We are inspired by the work ethic of our honey bees as well. And we truly are, “As busy as a bee”.  Of all the things we produce at BGP, we take great care and pride in our honey, and the bees that make it..  Everything is harvested in house, from the Apiary to the table.  We collect the frames, spin the honey, and harvest it all on sight.  We do all the packaging and labeling in house as well.  It's truly a Farm to table around here!

Vegetable Farm

Organic Fruits & Vegetables

Organic gardening is definitely one of our strong suits at BGP.  We use an ancient method called “HugelKulture”, which literally means hill culture or hill mound.  It’s a raised bed with logs, smaller sticks, unfinished compost, manure, and finished off with organic compost.  We went further and put our own take on it and built beautiful garden beds out of copper and used our proprietary blend of soil with micronutrients from pre historic bogs and infused it with inoculated bio-char to create a micro nutrient oasis wonderland for these plants to thrive.  We accept nothing but the best.  Bite in today and see why they are buzzing so hard for Bee Green.

Garden Soil

Organic Compost

The best way to get organic compost, is to start with organic materials.   Permaculture is our running standard at BGP.  We are constantly using what the farm gives us, not only reducing the carbon footprint on the planet, but it’s the way nature intended for the best results.  We don’t survive, but we thrive on this farm.  What ever the farm does not provide, BGL provides.  We don’t bring any other outside sources for our organic compost. All of our compost is measured with a strict 50/50 ratio of nitrogen to carbon. The chickens, horses and grass clippings provide all the nitrogen we need to fuel the compost; while the leaves from the trees, clippings  from the garden and discarded plant matter finish off the ratio.  Keeping Green is a way of life at Bee Green.

Fresh Eggs

Poultry & Eggs

At Bee green we know sustainability.  Farm fresh eggs and poultry are our Passion.  We feed our pullets a local, organic feed that is produced right here in Ohio , in Apple Creek.  The pullets are pasture raised, with lots of room to roam and eat bugs.  The eggs are hand picked daily and the labels hand made.  The broilers are pasture raised as well.  These are fed an organic feed from birth.  Absolutely no medicated feed or antibiotics around here.  We move them daily by chicken tractor so they get a fresh patch of grass that provides bugs and nutrients to fuel their diet.  We value these chickens and give them the best possible life they can get before they are processed right here on the property.  We truly are a farm to table co-op!
